Run Jersey Events seeks to make the Jersey Half Marathon an eco friendly event. We will not be supplying or using plastic bottles and are looking to reduce waste. Water will be available at the start and finish, but you will need to supply your own cup / bottle. On the race course water (4,7,10 and 12 miles) will be supplied in edible seaweed pods as used at London Marathon. Alternatively please carry your own water supply. This will save over 2000 cups / plastic bottles from being disposed and reduce the quantity of water wasted.
MEDICAL SUPPORT AND YOUR PERSONAL SAFETY
We take your safety very seriously and try to provide a safe environment for you to race in however your safety is your personal responsibility. Please fill in the medical information and contact details on the reverse of your race numbers.
Ensure that you are well hydrated before race day,
Sip water as you wait in the start area (water is provided)
If you feel the need to drink between water stops carry your own race bottle.
Take time to drink at each water station - slow down and drink.
If you are feeling that your heart rate , temperature and breathing are not as you would normally expect during such a physical challenge you must STOP, cool down and decide whether you should walk, retire or carry on.
Try pouring water on your head or using the showers along the St Aubin - St Helier promenade to cool you down
